The Faculty of Technology in the University of Vaasa is a work community of circa 1 100 students and 50 teachers and researchers.
The purpose of the Faculty is to create a nationally noticeable profile for the university and establish regional influence, derived from the internal industrial structure of the provinces in Ostrobothnia – and supporting it, by offering strong technological and economic education and research that fulfils international quality requirements.
The Faculty has two major areas of responsibility: industrial economics studies, offering computer science and industrial management as major subjects, and engineering studies offering automation technology, electrical engineering, computer science and telecommunications engineering as major subjects. The Faculty also teaches methodology science and computer science to all disciplines within the university.

A wide-ranging study environment
The University of Vaasa itself has a body of students about 5000 strong. New students are accepted several times during the year, depending on programme and admission schedule. The 12 000 students of the city of Vaasa guarantee a lively social life outside of the studies.
Campus at the Sea
At what has been called Finland’s most beautiful Campus at the Sea – modern art, a classical factory environment and the glittering seafront blend together to form unity. At the sunlit campus area, all services are located close by and the focus on the student is obvious.
An International University
Internationalism is a key concept at the University of Vaasa. Annually, around 100 foreign exchange- and degree students are accepted for studies at the University, and about 200 students go abroad to complete part of their studies. In addition to offering diverse and varied degree programmes and courses in English, The University of Vaasa offers an international atmosphere, a beautiful seaside campus, a functioning tutor-network and an abundant supply of student activities.
